Shopify Store Audit · 48 Hours

Find out what’s quietly costing your store sales.

We test your Shopify store like a real customer — on mobile and desktop — looking for broken journeys, checkout problems, slow pages, tracking issues, technical errors and other problems that can cost you orders.

Full Shopify store audit — $149. One-time payment, no subscription. The audit stands on its own. If you later choose CartScholar to implement the recommended fixes, your $149 is credited in full toward that development work.

Report delivered within 48 hours of receiving your store details · No store access required · No subscription

Examples of issues we uncover
Main CTA leading to a 404 A call-to-action button in the site menu pointing at a page that no longer exists.
Store ignoring taps for seconds Tracking scripts blocking the main thread, so shoppers tap “Add to cart” and nothing happens.
Hero image loading last A banner set to lazy-load, so phones show an empty page before the product appears.
Audit checks · Reproduced before reporting
What you get

A report you can act on, not a score out of 100.

Automated tools hand you a number and a wall of jargon. We hand you a short list of real problems, ranked by what they cost you, each with the page it’s on and the fix.

Every finding is reproduced by hand before it goes in the report. If we can’t show it to you happening, it doesn’t get listed.

The audit runs from your public storefront, exactly as a customer sees it, so you never hand over access to your store.

  • Prioritised report — critical first, cosmetic last
  • Screenshots and page URLs for every issue
  • A short walkthrough video, so you see it yourself
  • Plain-language explanation of the likely impact
  • Recommended fix for each item, and the rough effort involved
  • A quote for the fixes, with your $149 credited
Example findings

See what your audit looks like.

Each issue arrives in this format: what’s wrong, where, what it affects, how to fix it, and roughly how long the fix takes. These cards are illustrative examples of the format, not results from a specific client store.

Critical

Add to Cart fails on iPhone Safari

URL
/products/example-product
Impact
High — blocks purchases on a common mobile browser
Found
The Add to Cart interaction fails under a specific mobile browser condition, leaving the button unresponsive.
Fix
Investigate the JavaScript event handling and the theme/app interaction on the product template.
Effort
1–2 hours
High

Purchase event not firing in GA4

URL
/checkouts/thank-you
Impact
High — ad spend is optimised against incomplete data
Found
The conversion event does not reach GA4 on order completion, so reported sales are lower than actual sales.
Fix
Correct the tag configuration and validate the event in real time before relying on the data.
Effort
1–2 hours
High

Homepage unresponsive while scripts load

URL
/
Impact
Medium to high — affects every mobile visitor from ads
Found
Third-party scripts occupy the main thread on load, so taps are ignored for several seconds after the page appears ready.
Fix
Defer non-essential third-party scripts and remove duplicated tracking libraries.
Effort
3–5 hours

What we check

The things that quietly lose orders.

Most store owners know the homepage works. Almost nobody has checked whether variant four of their bestseller adds to cart on an iPhone, or whether the purchase event actually reaches GA4.

Customer journey

  • Add to cart and cart drawer
  • Product pages, variants and swatches
  • Checkout journey, where technically testable
  • Search, collection filters and forms

Technical & performance

  • Mobile usability and touch targets
  • Page speed and Core Web Vitals
  • JavaScript and console errors
  • Broken links, app conflicts, duplicate scripts
  • Image sizing and loading behaviour

Tracking & analytics

  • GA4 implementation
  • Google Tag Manager setup
  • Meta Pixel
  • Ecommerce and conversion events
  • Basic tracking validation from the storefront

Findability & trust

  • SEO basics: titles, descriptions, headings
  • Accessibility basics
  • Trust signals on product pages

The audit is run from the public storefront, so no store access is required. Anything that can only be confirmed inside your Shopify admin is flagged as worth checking rather than assumed, and we tell you exactly how to check it.

Right fit

Is this audit for you?

It is built for live stores with real traffic. If you are still building, your money is better spent elsewhere — and we will say so.

Yes, if

  • You already have a Shopify store
  • You are running paid advertising
  • Your conversion rate has dropped
  • You recently changed your theme
  • You recently installed several apps
  • You are preparing for a major campaign
  • You are seeing unexplained sales or conversion problems
  • You want an independent technical check after big changes

Not ideal, if

  • You have not launched your store yet
  • You only need branding or logo design
  • You are looking for a complete store build rather than an audit

Not sure? Ask us first — we will tell you honestly if an audit is the wrong purchase.

Why CartScholar

Technical testing, then a straight answer.

We build and maintain Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce sites, so the report comes from people who fix these problems every week.

We test, we don’t guess

Findings are reproduced by hand on real devices before they reach your report.

No push toward a rebuild

Most problems are small fixes. The report says which ones you can handle yourself.

Implementation if you want it

We can fix what we find — only if you ask. See our work.

Our guarantee: if we cannot identify any meaningful issues worth your attention, we will refund your audit fee. By meaningful issues we mean genuine technical, usability, performance, tracking, SEO or customer-journey problems found during the audit. The audit reports what we find and recommends fixes; it does not guarantee any particular change in sales or conversions.

Questions

Before you buy

The questions merchants ask most often. Anything else, email hello@cartscholar.com.

Do you need access to my store? No. The audit is run from the public storefront, so your store URL is enough. If you later hire us for fixes, you send a staff invite you can revoke at any time — never a password.
What exactly does the $149 include?Key customer journeys and representative pages tested on mobile and desktop, a prioritised report with screenshots and URLs, a walkthrough video, tracking and analytics validation, and a fix plan with a quote.
How quickly will I get the report? We begin the audit within one business day and deliver the completed report within 48 hours of receiving your store details.
What if my store is fine?If we cannot identify any meaningful issues worth your attention, we will refund your audit fee. Meaningful means genuine technical, usability, performance, tracking, SEO or customer-journey problems — not cosmetic preferences.
Is the $149 credited toward fixes?Yes. It is credited in full toward eligible CartScholar development work if you choose us to implement the recommended fixes. It is a credit against that work, not a cash refund, and you are free to buy the audit on its own and take the report elsewhere.
Is this just a PageSpeed score? No. Automated tools catch speed numbers and miss the expensive things: a variant that will not add to cart, a menu link to a deleted page, a purchase event that never reaches GA4. Those are found by a person using the store.
Will you try to sell me a rebuild? No. Most findings are small fixes, and plenty of them you can do yourself — the report says which. If you want us to handle them, the $149 comes off the price.
How is the audit delivered?By email: a written report you can forward to a developer, plus a short walkthrough video highlighting the most important issues on your store.
Do you work with WooCommerce too?Yes. Same audit, same price, same turnaround. WordPress and WooCommerce are half of what we do.
How long do fixes usually take? Most stores need a day or two of work. The report separates quick wins from bigger jobs, so you can start with whatever matters most.
